SATURDAY THEMEDAY – Pyramids and Sphinxes: More treasures then you can carry
Though I haven’t finished the game yet, I have explored quite a lot already. Never have I rushed playing an Assassin’s Creed game. I have always known that you have to invest a lot of time to see everything the game has to offer, which needs exploration. This is also the case in Origins. So call you horse and travel throughout the lands of Ancient Egypt.
So, you are Ubisoft and you want to make a game in Egypt, right? Then you have to make their cultural monuments. Which are the Sphinx’s and Pyramid’s. Now, you have made those, now what? I guess that the future players would like to enter these buildings, correct? Well, then I can tell you, Ubisoft killed it!
In Giza are such monuments who everyone knows. Landmarks, cultural monuments, crafts of the ancient. Ever wanted to see how it looks inside? Now you can! And it is stunning. First you have to really search for the entrance, it never is an obvious door, more like a small, crawling like, space. When you have found it, light your torch, because they didn’t have lamps or such in that time.
I had some experiences that I thought it was just one room, but you have to look at your surroundings, there are hidden passages. Find those, you will miss out otherwise, there are a lot of treasures hidden there. You can always use your eagle vision, it can reveal hints.
Now, walking through these tunnels and rooms is quite worth the time. Ubisoft invest a lot of effort in creating these extras. They could have left the pyramid’s and sphinx’s hollow, not enterable. But they didn’t. They gave us all of it. Even drawings on the wall, spiderwebs, offerings, tombs, everything you would expect.
Well, there you have it. Enjoy, don’t get lost though. It can be little claustrophobic sometimes. But go for it!
