Article: Netflix and Ubisoft negotiating about Netflix Original Series

Netflix, a lot of people have a subscription to this huge streaming network of movies, series and documentaries. Why are we talking Netflix on MyCreed? Well, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot revealed that it is currently negotiating with Netflix for a brand new netflix original series.

According from a Reuters report, Guillemot said last Monday that Ubisoft is “in talks with Netflix over a series.” Sadly there is no more information about this, but most likely the Netflix show(s) will be an adaptation of one of their franchises.

The head of French software games developer Ubisoft reiterated on Monday his desire to keep Ubisoft independent, in the face of pressure from shareholder Vivendi, and added Ubisoft was in talks with Netflix over a series.

Ubisoft’s decision to work together with Netflix might also be a response to the Vivendi acquisition of more Ubisoft shares. This might be their only hope to keep Ubisoft to themselves. Ubisoft is not the only company who is in talks with Netflix about a series adaptation of a game. Activision also finished their talks with Netflix about Skylanders Adventures and another game franchise. Disney, Disney’s Marvel and DC are also in talks to make their series come to Netflix and partner up for all new shows.

Assassin’s Creed Movie | 20th Century Fox | Ubisoft

Assassin’s Creed will have its first movie released late 2016 / early 2017 starring Michael Fassbender. A series might take place alongside the movie, in which we will see the storylines more fleshed out. Ubisoft will most likely use their own Movie company to create this series with Netflix.

While I personally would love to see an adaptation of the Assassin’s Creed franchise into a Netflix series, I can also see The Division, Far Cry or Ghost Recon becoming a huge hit. What franchise of Ubisoft would you love to see on Netflix? Let us know in the comments below!
